Connected For Fruitfulness!

The only way a branch is able to bear any fruit is to stay connected to the vine. However it so happens that whenever we think about fruitfulness, getting more out of life, the last thing we think about is staying connected to Christ our vine. We want to do everything else but be with Him. We forget that our fruitfulness is a function of being connected. Check this out…

“so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,

being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.”

““I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.

Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭10‬-‭12‬ ‭NIV & John‬ ‭15‬:‭1‬-‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

A very hard lesson I learnt last week, is that the ability to be fruitful is the product of staying connected to the source. That is not to say to do no work… Staying connected actually means that the mind of God, the favor of God, the grace of God, the life of God is flowing through you, guiding you and nourishing you. You become like a tree planted by streams of water not affected by the heat and changes in the weather.

That also means that you operate with the standard of the one you’re connected to. You don’t function according to this world’s standards. Which area of your life are you desiring fruitfulness?

Seek that connection with Him and begin to see it bud. Have a fruitful week ahead!
