I’d like you to think about me some more – God

In today’s hyper-connected, fast-paced environment, the challenge more than ever is to have the discipline to slow down. Modern-day technology also inundates your life with distractions that draw your focus outward.

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

Joshua 1:8-9 KJV

Whether we read the Bible in the morning, over our lunch break, or before bed at night, our schedules and responsibilities tend to assail us with distractions. In fact, distractions are a tool the enemy of our souls uses to take our eyes off Christ and to keep us from hearing God clearly in his Word.

To meditate, then, is to think deeply about what God has said to us in the Bible and to prepare our minds and hearts to absorb the life that his word brings. When we meditate on the Word of God, we seek to understand how the God of the universe is speaking: about himself, about our world, and about our own hearts. It is to know God in a personal and relatable way through intimacy with his word.

The power in God’s word is harnessed by spending time with it in meditation. Think about it this way, A guy tells a lady he likes her, she brushes it off and walks away, later that evening she sits and the thought of the words he spoke comes back to her, she smiles… she begins to think about his words, she remembers his face, how much his eyes lit up when they spoke those words to her… what could they mean? her heart has a thousand questions, she starts to feel a warm cuddly feeling around her chest, she allows herself to continue thinking on him and his words, she imagines saying yes to him, their lives together, what it could be… and in those moments that train of thoughts could be life changing for her if they define her next course of action.

That is how deeply we get affected by meditating on God’s word… His word said “i will be with you”… take a moment, think about it… God are you truly with me, that means that even when i go through trials you’re there right? you’re watching over me, you’re a big God so then nothing can overcome me. Suddenly your heart begins to be confident in His word! You feel an assurance rise gently in your heart and you go out with that power to live your best life.

It is not enough to know his word or to hear it. It is important to spend time, thinking and internalizing what everything He says means to you and through meditation you will receive insight from the Holy Spirit which will empower you to walk in the revelation of His word. Doubt, fear and faithlessness take over when you don’t internalize His word through meditation. I can promise you, if you do spend time in His word, you could turn your life around completely, besides isn’t your mind your garden, and imagine the word of God being the seeds you sow in there!

Take time off to think on God… Don’t you love Him enough?

Love,

Zoe🌟
