Dear God… your words just have a way of bringing comfort to our hearts and for that we say thank you! It’s comforting to know that you’re watching…
Heyy Goodwoman… Have you often felt alone? Feel like no one is watching? Especially when you’ve gone out of your way to be good or kind or supportive, to do something right and it goes unappreciated or unseen… Hurts like a sting!
The scripture for today says in the very first line… “since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses” and then goes ahead to say how we should conduct ourselves… but the foundational message is to understand that we are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses.
Quick question; who or what is this cloud of witnesses. Hebrews 12:22 He enlists who and who make up the cloud of witnesses, From the host of angels, ascended saints, Jesus to God the judge of all… the whole family of heaven is right there with you always, watching over you, instructing you, leading you, clearing the path ahead of you… ow and that includes every family, friend or partner that died in the Lord… they are right there. And just like Jesus transfigured and entered the cloud to have fellowship with Moses and Elijah, that’s the same way you can have fellowship with anyone in the cloud of witnesses!
You could book an appointment with David the King, or Sarah to learn some wisdom or speak to a dear one that passed in Christ- and we know we have access because we are seated in heavenly places. So come to think of it… we’re actually in the same place only separated by the limitations of the flesh!
The thought of this scripture inspires such a confidence in the heart. It gives us a hope and assurance that we are never alone, and further that even when we lose relations in Christ they are not gone.. they’re right there next to us in that cloud of witnesses.
I pray that you are able to keep this word in your heart and understand deep within that you are never alone… there’s a whole host of the heavenly family who’ve got your back anyday anytime! You are never ever alone!
