“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.
And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but so to think as to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to each man a measure of faith.
For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members have not the same office: so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and severally members one of another.
And having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith; or ministry, let us give ourselves to our ministry; or he that teacheth, to his teaching; or he that exhorteth, to his exhorting: he that giveth, let him do it with liberality; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness. What I love about the scriptures is when they speak clearly about life and how it should be lived. First of all your life, body, mind and spirit is for God and that’s a great foundation for building your life as a Christian.
The greatest differenciator of believers today will be how we relate with one another. Recognizing that everyone brings some value in their own different is such a great perspective to have as it allows each and everyone of us to shine in their own light without having to compare ourselves with one another – and that! is a very big differentiator, makes us super different from the world!
The greatest part of this scripture is that He says that everyone should do what they do and be the best at it! If you’re the giver in the group give cheerfully, if you are the encourager do it with all your heart. If you’re a teacher give it your very best and by that we become a formidable force that cannot be breached!
As you go through the day, think about what value you bring to the group and how best you can develop it to bring the greatest value to the group.
